This spring wedding took place at the historical Boston Store in Downtown Erie, PA.
We provided reception coordination, music, professional emceeing, dazzling dance Lighting and brilliant uplighting, as well as a fun wedding photo booth, complete with a take home memory book for the couple.
We initially met the couple, Andrew and Victoria, about a year ago to discuss what they wanted for their wedding. After determining that we could meet their needs, we began the planning process. Over the next few months Andrew & Victoria began to fill in our easy-to-use online planning forms at their convenience.
Planning a Spring Wedding in Erie, PA
A few weeks prior to their wedding, we met with the venue manager/catering owner to go over the floor plan and expected timeline of the evening.
Two weeks prior to the wedding, we met with the couple once again and finalized the plan for the night to ensure it was perfect. Once we had their timeline, we went to work behind the scenes to create their customized playlist, announcements, and uniquely designed photo strip template.
On the day of the wedding, we arrived early in the morning to ensure every detail of our set-up was taken care of so that their night would be flawless.
The venue, the Boston House, is a historic landmark, and therefore provided some unique challenges as there were limitations in electrical usage. Additionally, there was also a long hallway-style lobby with large pillars on either side. Although the lack of electrical outlets proved to be a bit of an obstacle, we worked around the issues. An onsite visit earlier in the process allowed us to plan for extension cords and also the fact that we only use LED lighting, which requires less electrical usage during the evening for dancing.
Our uplighting was perfect for the environment as it is wireless and runs on battery power.
We used the layout of the hall to our advantage with our equipment, with the photo booth and memory book station situated directly across the dance floor and out of the way for dinner service.
Choosing a Wedding Planner and Wedding DJ in Erie, PA
We also have an advantage over any other wedding disc jockey in that we do not work alone or with an assistant. Our wedding professionals have distinct and separate roles and they work in teams. Each wedding is served by both a disc jockey who is responsible for sound, lighting and music selection throughout the night and a wedding coordinator, who also serves the emcee and oversees the timeline, keeps in constant communication with the other wedding professionals, bridal party, family, and couple during the wedding. Additionally, the emcee makes every special announcement to ensure not a moment is missed by the guests.
Our photo booth is also manned by a team, with an attendant maintaining the booth, explaining the process to guests and keeping the area tidy, while another team member remains at the memory book station, assisting guests and encouraging them to leave a well wish and decorate the page with their duplicate photo strip to ensure the couple walks away holding magical memories in their hands.
A total of four team members are involved in each wedding that is served with both DJ and Photo Booth.
Between the prep prior to the wedding day to our face-to-face meetings, online communication, and our day-of setup, which began at around 9am, we spent about 40-50 hours dedicated to Andrew and Victoria’s wedding.
